I’ve played golf at Beaufort twice before but this visit surpassed even those. It was a beautiful sunny day and the course was in great shape. We had a bowl of delicious vegetable soup before walking 18 holes. The staff is so warm and welcoming that you feel you are a club member. The bar is a refurbished old stable (I think) with a gorgeous putting green out front. You can sit at picnic tables for your lunch and enjoy the serenity of the view. The parkland course has challenges but the wide open fairways are a golfer’s dream. The greens are true and well groomed. It is a great break from the busier courses but I can’t imagine it will stay quiet for much longer. It will always be on our Kerry golf course list.
